This tea, intriguingly named 'Old Tree' but also referred to as 'Arbor Tree Green Cake' on its inner packaging, presents a delightful enigma.

Its exquisite taste has not only captured our interest for retail purposes, but it has also become a favored choice for our daily family consumption.

The tea's aging process has resulted in threads that are both tight and neat, enhancing its visual appeal.

Its clear, bright liquor betrays years of careful maturation.

On the palate, this tea offers a refreshing sweetness reminiscent of a blend between sugarcane and honey, paired with a smooth, mellow flavor that showcases its aged characteristics.

The varied nuances in each sip are both soothing and pleasing, leaving a lingering aftertaste that invites further enjoyment.

This tea has been naturally stored in Guangzhou, adding to its unique profile.

A warming, fruity tea

The dry leaves smelled like cocoa and yoghurt. A quick rinse revealed ebony leaves that smelled like cacao, plums, cinnamon, allspice and lilies. The tea soup was medium and oily, with a deep copper colour. The brew was smooth. It tasted like pine resin, papaya, and dates. The empty cup smelled like raisins and persimmons. The mouth feel was sweet, like honeysuckle and had a cuban rum aftertaste. I used 5g of leaf in a 100ml gaiwan with boiling water. On average, the sessions lasted for nine brews. I'll definitely buy more of this tea.
