Pretty good. Didn't detect any wet pile taste. You can be very loose with the brewing parameters. You won't get that many infusions out of it, but it is cheap.

Disappointed due to my order missing a teacake.

2010 KingTeaMall "Jin Ya Gong" (Tribute Golden Bud - Lincang) Cake 357g Puerh Ripe Tea Shou Cha

KTM recommended me this cake when I was searching for something suitable. For the price, it is phenomenal. The cake itself has lots of beautiful gold buds, and comes apart easily. However- I do get some amount of dust/small tea particles when breaking this apart. It could be the cake or just how I am working pieces off, not sure. Lid smell is rich, heavy buttermilk with some hints of caramel and a dark chocolate tang in the background. Taste is not overly complex or dynamic in the mouth, but very delicious nonetheless. That caramel and dark chocolate persist, riding on a sort of spicy, damp wood taste. As brews go on, I find that it becomes slightly more "fresh" and almost herbal. Leaving the palate feeling clean, but this doesn't linger for long. It is most certainly a great daily drinking puerh, and at the price point it's could easily be drunk all day. I can't be thankful enough for being pointed toward this cake!
