This premium 2007 ripe puerh was produced in late 2006 using primarily first-grade tea leaves and officially released in January 2007.
Carefully aged under natural storage conditions in Guangzhou, it has developed a rich, mature character over nearly two decades.
The dry leaves consist of fine, well-twisted threads interspersed with abundant golden buds, displaying a deep reddish-brown hue. When brewed, it yields a clear, bright, ruby-red liquor with excellent transparency.
The tea liquor is smooth and mellow, with elegant thickness and a distinctive aged aroma profile featuring prominent notes of medicinal herbs and camphor (药香、樟香).
It finishes with a clean, sweet aftertaste that lingers gently on the palate, leaving a soothing and calming sensation.
A highly refined and balanced shou puerh, "Chen Xiang 1 Hao" is an excellent daily drinker as well as a solid choice for collectors seeking a well-aged, flavorful loose-leaf ripe puerh.
