Product Overview
Crafted from the earliest "Pre-Qingming" buds of 2026, this Silver Needle Dian Lv hails from the high-altitude Puerh regions of Yunnan. Unlike traditional white tea Silver Needles, this is a Green Tea process applied to the Yunnan Large-Leaf species (Daye Zhong). This results in a unique hybrid profile: the needle-like elegance of a white tea combined with the vibrant, pan-fired freshness and robust "body" of a Yunnan green tea.
Sensory Profile
-
Appearance: Striking, needle-shaped buds that are "root-distinct" (well-defined). Every needle is heavily cloaked in a dense layer of silvery-white pekoe, giving the tea a shimmering, emerald-silver luster.
-
Aroma: A high-toned, refreshing fragrance dominated by Hao Xiang (Pekoe-fragrance) and "tender-shoot" notes. It is clean, airy, and unmistakably fresh.
-
Palate: The liquor is a bright, luminous yellowish-green. Because it is a large-leaf variety, the taste is "thick" and structured, offering a delicate but deep sweetness with a silky mouthfeel.
-
Finish: Fast-acting huigan (returning sweetness) and immediate shengjin (salivation). It possesses a "wild" durability that far exceeds coastal green teas.
Technical Specifications
-
Harvest: Early Spring 2026 (One bud, one tender leaf).
-
Storage: Seal in an airtight, opaque container. Refrigeration (0–5°C) is essential to preserve the delicate pekoe aromatics and prevent the "tender-green" oils from oxidizing.
-
Shelf Life: 18 months.
Brewing Recommendations
This tea is prized for its visual "dance" in the water:
-
Water Quality: Mineral or soft filtered water.
-
Temperature: 80–85°C (176–185°F). Avoid boiling water to keep the pekoe from becoming "cooked" and the taste from becoming astringent.
-
The Glass Method (Highly Recommended): Use a tall, clear glass cup to watch the needles "dance" vertically in the water.
-
Fill 1/3 with water, add 4g of tea, and swirl gently to "awaken" the silver down.
-
Fill the remainder. Observe as the needles unfurl and stand upright.
-
-
Steeping: Remarkably durable for a green tea. Expect 6–8 meaningful infusions; the sweetness will deepen and the "body" will remain thick throughout the session.
