Grade: A++++ (Prestige Grade)

Cultivar: Mei Zhan (梅占)

Origin: Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province, China

Harvest: 1st Picking, Early Spring 2026

Sensory Profile

  • Appearance: This tea is composed entirely of delicate tea buds. The dry leaves are exceptionally fine, tightly corded, and slightly curved. They exhibit a lustrous reddish-brown hue, reflecting the high-quality oxidation process of the Mei Zhan cultivar.

  • Aroma: The bouquet is rich and harmonious. The most prominent note is a distinct dried longan (Gui Yuan) fragrance, strikingly similar to the scent released when a longan shell is first cracked. This is layered with elegant orchid, roasted sweet potato, honey, and deep sugary undertones.

  • Taste & Palate: On the palate, it mirrors the crystalline sweetness of mountain spring water but with profound structural depth. The initial sip reveals a mellow, thick, and silky texture. It is remarkably clean, with zero bitterness or astringency, allowing the fragrance to "pour down" the throat.

  • Liquor: The first infusion yields a brilliant golden-yellow hue with a subtle reddish tint, maintaining superb clarity. As brewing progresses, the color deepens slightly before gradually lightening, holding a vibrant yellow glow even through the sixth infusion.

  • Finish: A long-lasting, rhythmic aftertaste. The signature longan and honey notes linger on the breath, evolving gracefully across multiple steeps.

Brewing & Storage

  • Brewing Tips:

    • Water Temperature: 90°C–95°C (194°F–203°F).

    • Ratio: 3–5g of tea per 150ml of water.

    • Vessel: Porcelain Gaiwan or a small ceramic teapot.

    • Timing: Start with a 10–15 second "awakening" steep. For subsequent infusions, increase the time by 5–10 seconds. This resilient Mei Zhan leaf typically yields 6–8 high-quality infusions.

  • Storage Recommendations:

    • To preserve the delicate floral and fruit volatile oils, store in a sealed, airtight bag away from light and heat.

    • Pro Tip: For long-term preservation of the "Tou Cai" freshness, we recommend refrigeration (similar to green tea) to ensure the aromatic profile remains at its peak.
