2006 ChangTai "Si Pu Yuan" (SiPuYuan) Cake 400g Puerh Raw Tea Sheng Cha

My favorite part of this tea is the aroma the wet leaves give off. Maple wood, butterscotch, garden soil. I'm not as personally keen on storage + age that gives the garden soil character to the tea itself which is why I gave it a 3. Not too thick, not too mouth coating, but at $0.10/g for a cake, this is a solid pick for somebody who likes to metaphorically get in the garden with a butterscotch in their mouth. Little to no astringency when pushed, nor too much bitterness within reason, just as described. A caught some momentary returning sweetness later in the session which was a nice surprise. This is a strong candidate for those who prefer older sheng's and are looking for a daily drinker with these profiles.
