About Gunpowder Tea

Gunpowder tea, known as “Zhu Cha” (珠茶, literally “pearl tea”), is named for its tightly rolled appearance resembling tiny pellets. This rolling method helps protect the delicate tea leaves, preserving their aroma, freshness, and flavor for longer periods. When infused, each pearl gently unfurls, releasing a rich bouquet of fragrance and taste.
