Product Name: Hand-Painted Bamboo Leaf White Porcelain "Gai Wan"

Material: This exquisite "Gai Wan" is made from fine white porcelain and features fully hand-painted bamboo leaves, adding a touch of elegance and craftsmanship to your tea experience.

Capacity: 170cc – suitable for personal use or serving guests during a Gongfu tea ceremony.

The "Gai Wan," or "San Gai Wan," is a traditional Chinese tea vessel comprised of three parts: Lid, Body, and Saucer. It is highly valued in the Gongfu tea ceremony for its ability to bring out the true flavor of the tea.

Usage Steps:

  1. Place 4-8 grams of tea leaves into the body of the Gai Wan.
  2. Pour water heated to the ideal temperature over the tea leaves. For green or black teas, water temperatures should range from 85 to 92 degrees Celsius to avoid scalding the leaves.
  3. Cover with the lid and quickly pour out the water, using the first infusion to rinse and awaken the tea leaves.
  4. Continue to infuse the tea by repeating the third step, adjusting the steeping time as needed to achieve the desired flavor strength and depth.

This "Gai Wan" is not just a vessel for brewing tea; it is also a work of art, with each hand-painted bamboo leaf celebrating the traditional Chinese symbolism of bamboo: grace, strength, and flexibility. It is a perfect gift for tea lovers and a beautiful addition to any collection of tea wares.

Pretty and comfortable

This is my first Gaiwan ever. I was nervous that I would be bad at pouring the tea as I have small hands, but it was very comfortable and easy to use! It's also very pretty. I love the way the leaves look against the bright white interior, and the bamboo leaves on the outside are nice to look at while I wait to pour the tea.
