Note: Please note that this tea has some tea oil visible on the surface of the wrapper. This does not affect the tea’s quality, aroma, flavor, or taste. However, some customers who are new to puerh tea, especially those unfamiliar with Guangzhou natural storage, may have concerns when they first see it.

This phenomenon is not limited to this particular 7542. We have also observed it on teas of Dayi from neighboring years, including 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Although all of these teas were stored under the same Guangzhou natural storage conditions, tea oil appears more frequently on teas from these years.

Origination:

The 2010 DaYi "7542" Cake, renowned for its historical significance and exceptional quality, traces its roots back to the prestigious Menghai tea factory. This esteemed blend was first meticulously crafted in 1975, earning its name from a combination of key elements: the year of its inception, the use of 4th-grade tea leaves, and its serial number "2," denoting its manufacture by the Menghai tea factory, one of China's national tea factories during that era.

Taste Profile:

  • Rich and Aromatic: The "7542" blend boasts a rich and aromatic profile that has captivated tea enthusiasts worldwide. Its infusion of tiny buds on the surface contributes to both its visual appeal and its complex flavor profile.

  • Robust and Full-Bodied: Within the tea lies a core of fat and strong materials, imparting a robust and full-bodied character. This structural integrity ensures a deeply satisfying tea experience with each sip.

  • Aromatic and Fruity: The taste is characterized by its aromatic and fruity notes, offering a delightful interplay of flavors that tantalize the palate. The tea's rich flavor is complemented by a pronounced "Huigan," or returning sweetness, a hallmark trait highly coveted among puerh enthusiasts.

Storage:

  • Location: Guangzhou
  • Conditions: Dry and Clean
  • Importance: The tea is carefully stored under optimal conditions in Guangzhou, where the dry and clean environment ensures the preservation of its quality and the development of its unique characteristics over time.

Conclusion:

The 2010 DaYi "7542" Cake stands as a testament to the artistry and legacy of the Menghai tea factory. Revered as a benchmark in the world of puerh raw teas, this blend's storied history, complex flavor profile, and meticulous craftsmanship continue to captivate connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike. With each cup, tea lovers embark on a journey through puerh tea history, savoring the unparalleled quality and timeless allure of this esteemed blend.

Excellent version of a classic recipe - perfect storage

This is a well-developed mid-aged sheng with nice buttery and sweet molasses notes that have developed. Very clean storage. This is a great version of 7542, and it would be a great entry point for someone looking to explore semi-aged raw puer.
