Description:

The 2022 "Shanshui He" Liu Bao Tea is meticulously crafted from premium first-grade raw materials, following the traditional export-oriented Liu Bao tea production process. Selected for their superior quality and expertly processed, the tea undergoes the distinctive "one tea, multiple cellars, multiple storages" aging technique, resulting in an exceptional export-grade profile. The dry tea leaves are tightly rolled, uniform in shape, and boast a glossy dark brown sheen.

Upon brewing, the liquor reveals a vibrant ruby-red hue, clear and luminous. In the first three infusions, the flavor is rich and mellow, with an aroma that gradually unveils subtle notes of betel nut. By the fifth infusion, the tea’s invigorating energy shines through, harmonizing aged fragrance with pronounced betel nut undertones. Even after ten or more steeps, the tea retains its complexity, delivering a sweet, smooth finish with enduring depth and remarkable staying power. The steeped leaves are soft and pliable, displaying a warm brown tone.

Historical Background of the "Shanshui He" (Mountain & Water Box) Series:

Introduced in the 1970s by the China National Native Produce & Animal By-Products Import & Export Corporation (CNNP) Guangxi Branch, the "Shanshui He" Liu Bao Tea was originally designed as a compact, export-friendly product. Featuring iconic Guilin mountain-and-water scenery on its packaging, it earned the affectionate nickname "Mountain & Water Box" among international consumers, becoming a timeless classic of export Liu Bao tea and a flagship offering from China Tea (Wuzhou). Early editions, produced under the "Zhongcha" (China Tea) brand by the Guangxi Wuzhou Branch, were adorned with elegant gold-foil stamping, including embossed green-gold "Liu Bao Tea" text and flat gold accents for the English "LIUPAOTEA" and Zhuang Jin waistband design. Over the decades, the series evolved through various iterations: from the gold-stamped versions of the 1980s, to the matte-finished "WZ" and "Xijiang" brands of the early 1990s, and later the "Duoteli" brand by the Guangxi Wuzhou Tea Import & Export Company in 1997. In 2007, production of the "Zhongcha" Shanshui He resumed with updated gold-foil branding, followed by continued refinement under Wuzhou China Tea Co., Ltd. from 2008 onward.

Celebrating over half a century of Liu Bao tea export heritage, the "Shanshui He" series reflects a legacy of craftsmanship and tradition. In 2022, marking the 70th anniversary of China Tea Wuzhou, a commemorative edition was launched. Enhanced with upgraded, visually striking packaging, this special release retains the familiar recipe and classic flavor that have made it a cherished staple—worthy of appreciation and collection.
