‘Lao Chen De Cha’, translating to ‘Mr. Chen’s Tea’, is a distinguished series initiated in 2005 under the guidance of Mr. Chen Shi-huai, the chairman of the Changtai Group. This series embodies his tea-making philosophy.

The cakes in this series are known for their relative looseness, a result of stone mill pressing.

This unique process contributes to accelerated aging, even at the core of the cake. (This characteristic is prevalent in most Changtai teas from that era, with few exceptions.)

The tea is notable for its thickness and sweetness.

Both Huigan (returning sweetness) and saliva production are pronounced, enhancing the overall experience.

Subtle notes of bitterness and astringency are present, leading to a diverse range of lingering aftertastes.

Highly recommended for both connoisseurs and newcomers alike, this series offers an excellent opportunity to explore the clean, natural evolution of Guangzhou-stored tea.

a bit disapointed

I had great expectations for this one. Not sure why but I projected some rich and deep flavors and aromas. No. Quite flat actually. No bitterness at all, which I appreciate, but little character.

Hi, Francois,

Thanks for your last order.

We feel sorry to know you are not satisfied on this tea.
But to be honest, if you are pursuing rich flavor tea with thick aroma and bitterness, I will recommend tea from other region but not this one. Like our other tea 'Lao Man Er' pressed by ourselves few years ago should suit your preference perfectly.

Nan Nuo mountain new tea has some characters like below,
Sweet like refreshing water, or sugar cane or fruity like, not like honey but still with some thickness.
Aromatic and fragrant on dry tea threads and cold cup after drink.
Bitterness and pungency are almost in lower level than others during puerh tea category but maybe little higher than Yiwu tea.

Back to this tea, I enjoy this tea very much because of it's resilience and lingering flavor, smooth, mellow and still with some strength and aged enough. Or I can say this tea suits my preference occasionally. Comparing to another Nan Nuo pressed by ourselves in 2018 year made from old tree, I think my own tea is sweeter than this one but too sweet, so I need to steep it lighter.

Anyway, we are hurtful on this 2 star review but thankfully not because of our tea is not good but truly this tea doesn't suit your preference. But if you have tried some other Nan Nuo tea quite suits your preference above, we truly would like to listen and it will be helpful for improving our knowledge. Please just feel free to ask for our suggestions on tea before you place order when you feel hesitant.
Thank you.
