In 1994, with the approval of the Yunnan Province Reform Commission, the Xiaguan Tea Factory in Yunnan Province was restructured into “Yunnan Xiaguan Tuocha Co., Ltd.,” becoming the first “joint-stock company” in the provincial tea industry. This marked the beginning of the company’s transition to a modern enterprise system.
In 2024, we are celebrating the significant milestone of the 30th anniversary of Xiaguan Tea Factory’s restructuring. To commemorate this occasion, we have specially launched the “Aged Golden Years · Reform Commemorative Tea Cake.”
The “Aged Golden Years · Reform Commemorative Tea Cake” is crafted from select sun-dried, large-leaf tea leaves from old arbor trees in Ban Zhang, Xi Gui, Yan Zi Tou, and Jing Gu ancient tea regions. After being aged in the pure and fresh Dali plateau warehouse for 3 to 8 years, the tea is meticulously processed using Xiaguan’s century-old techniques of blending and pressing, along with the iron cake craftsmanship.
The bold and intense flavor of Ban Zhang, the sweet and deep notes of Xi Gui, the fresh and brisk taste of Yan Zi Tou, and the long-lasting high fragrance of Jing Gu all blend and permeate each other, creating a uniquely outstanding tea. The orchid aroma and rich aged fragrance with smoky notes are prominent, while the aged flavor is thick and sweet, leaving a deep and lingering aftertaste.
The tea cake is well-rounded, with a uniform thickness and clear, robust buds.
The liquor is bright golden-yellow; the aroma is a combination of orchid and aged fragrance with a hint of smokiness when hot, and the cold cup reveals a thick and enduring orchid honey fragrance.
The taste is rich, full, and smooth, with a strong, sweet aftertaste and lingering aged flavor.
