The "8542" series, first launched in 1985, draws inspiration from the iconic "7542" recipe, predominantly featuring 4th-grade and coarser tea leaves in its blend. This series was pioneered by the renowned Menghai Tea Factory, denoted by the serial number "2", a prestigious identifier from the era of national tea factories. The "8542" blend stands as a testament to the successful evolution of Pu-erh raw blend tea recipes. For a more comprehensive understanding of the tea naming conventions, the historical context, and the illustrious legacy of the Menghai Tea Factory, we invite you to explore our blog for detailed insights.

Taste:

The "8542" Pu-erh cake is characterized by its commendable tightness, which facilitates a slightly accelerated aging process compared to more densely packed teas. It exudes an aromatic and captivating fragrance. The flavor profile of this blend is notably richer and more robust than that of the "7542", offering a smooth and invigorating tea experience with a pronounced depth of flavor.

Storage:

This exquisite tea has been preserved under the natural storage conditions of Guangzhou. This method of storage plays a crucial role in the tea's aging process, contributing to its unique flavor profile and aromatic qualities.

There is a lot that I like about this tea like the aged aroma of wood and wild mushrooms or its nice sweetness, but to this DaYi is less interesting than its brothers usually are. The price is really low for DaYi standards but I'd much rather pay ~20$ more for a 8582 or 7542 of the same age.
