The dry tea leaves smelled like fresh bread and cranberry purée. This transformed into a bilberry and ground coffee smell after a quick rinse. The texture of the brew was thick and velvety smooth, with maroon and titian brown tinge. The tea soup was clean and bright, with hints of dark fruits, old wood and carrot juice notes. The empty cup had a gentle vanilla scent. The aftertaste had a slightly metallic finish with rum notes and cocoa sweetness.

I used 7g of material in a 100ml gaiwan with boiling water and I could infuse it 6-8 times.

I was looking for a dark, chocolatey, murky shou, so in that regard, I failed with this tea. But it delivered a completely different experience, both fruity and slightly earthy. Considering the price and the taste, this is a win for me.

I am surprised on how easy this cake is to break compared to other Xiaguans. I have no doubt that it’s made from old tea leaves given the number of infusions I get from it. This tea is powerful and a good substitute to a LaoBanZhang in terms of body feel and a little bit less in term of flavor. If you want an agressive qi this is a good option. Thank you KTM

The tea steeps quite nicely in hot water. It has a great fragrance and taste while keeping me energized and happy. I can drink this all day, which I do when not at work.

Very bright and strong taste with notes of citrus and berries. Slight sourness in the aftertaste. Flavour from the teapot is deep and fruity. Nice choice for the aged sheng pu-erh enthusiasts.

Very good tea! Robust yet smooth, with an almost black tea flavor

This tea took me by surprise! After the second brew it opened revealing notes of banana peel and green leaf vegetables. Great texture in the mouth and grounding cha qi. Might give it a go to buy the whole cake.

I took a shot in the dark with this tea and it did not disappoint. The liquor is rich and especially sweet. I bought 100g and I am wishing I had more.

Very rich taste, almost zero bitterness, but sweet - buckwheat honey, chestnuts and baked fruits with slight smoky aftertaste. Meditative cha qi.

A classic representative of aged raw pu-erhs from Banzhang. The taste is quite "silky" - a slightly astringent bitterness, turning into a sweet and sour aftertaste with notes of tobacco, dried fruits.

This tea has some smoky flavour with notes of tobacco and pine, with a citrus-like aftertaste. The color of the liquor is relatively bright for the aged sheng, but its taste and impact are strong enough, so you can get "drunk" pretty quickly.

Really pleasantly surprised with this one. Nice amount of aging on this already and that trademark yiwu sweetness. Can't go wrong for the price

I like Mengku Rongshi, their products give me a "green" pure feeling.

This Mu Ye Chun compares well to the DaYi Golden Neesle White Lotus, character, quality and pricewise.

More depth than cheaper Shou Chas, worth spending on it!

This tea still has lots of power- and that’s what I want! Pleasant bitterness and astringency, not overly intense, but if you push it, it will be. Thick in the mouth. If it has any ye sheng it is barely noticeable and just ads to the mouthfeel. Extremely floral. Sticks in my mouth and throat and I can taste it on my breath for a long time afterward. Stimulates salivation. Pretty strong cha qi. Decent hui gan. The soup is dark gold.

I wanted to add- the storage on this tea is fantastic. More aging happening than Kunming, but not as much as Taiwan and definitely not like Hong Kong. My preferred type of storage for sure. I think I might prefer puer around this age and storage more than any other!

Really good and flavourful. Packaging is also very nice and great as a gift, even though mislabeled.
