- As a brand, "Bao Yan" was officially registered in the late 1990s but was not produced annually and even saw periods of halted production.
- In 2003, Fei Tai tea company placed an order for this series with updated recipe and quality requirements to make it suitable for the modern market. This marked the successful revival of the "Bao Yan" series.
- The "Bao Yan" series includes various forms such as tuo (nest/bowl), cake, and brick.
