Characteristics:

  • Appearance and Composition:

    • Comprised of tea materials that had been stored for 10 years prior to being pressed into a disc cake in 2013.
    • The materials were picked in early spring from old tea trees (GuShu) in the deep mountains of Yunnan province.
  • Flavor Profile:

    • The taste reflects the long natural storage and aging process, offering a smooth and rich flavor profile.
    • The tea exhibits a complex interplay of sweetness, minor bitterness, and astringency, with a well-balanced and lingering aftertaste.
    • Refreshing with good Huigan (pleasant, sweet aftertaste) and saliva-producing properties.

Storage:

  • Naturally stored in Guangzhou, benefiting from the region’s favorable conditions for aging Puerh tea.

Background and History:

  • The tea is colloquially known in China as “十年历练” (shi nian li lian), simplified from “十载历练铸造飞台号” (shi zai li lian zhu zao fei tai hao), meaning "10 years experience makes this brand ‘Fei Tai Hao’ a success."
  • The term “Love Forever” is derived from the homophonic phrase in Chinese "爱你一生" (ai ni yi sheng), meaning "Love you for my whole life," which coincides with the year 2013 and inspired the name and design of the tea wrapper.
  • According to a blog post by “hansondu2013” on May 4, 2013, the author met Mr. Guo, the owner of FeiTai tea company, in 2012. Mr. Guo mentioned that the tea materials came from the BanZhang region, a renowned area with premium tea. However, this is not officially confirmed, and it is believed that BanZhang tea may only constitute around 20% of the blend.
  • The tea’s exact blend remains a closely guarded secret of FeiTai and XiaGuan tea companies.

Hype is earned

This is great tea. Distinct cherry flavor, cough syrup feeling lasts forever. Like love does. Because I believe the tea - it is trustworthy and it tells the truth. I hear it at night calling my name. It would be a poor decision to drink it at night. But I do. It is too powerful. Like a deity, an eternal deity. Deities are love. Eternal is forever. Paper.

Don't be fooled by the wrapper

This tea is actually quite tasteful. It has good strength and has aged well so far. I'd recommend sampling before buying a whole cake.
