This tea, originating from the Bulang mountain, was privately pressed in 2003 by a friend. It has aged well.
It features a unique aroma characteristic of aged tea.
The huigan (returning sweetness) is notable.
The taste is mellow and thick, with a long-lasting flavor lingering in the mouth.
Stored naturally in Guangzhou.
I brewed this tea earlier this evening, but I first bought the cake two years ago. It is still a very nice tea. There is an initial direct, punchy quality I associate with Bulang, with a complex palette of woodsy, sweet, and spicy flavors. The tea is well aged but not yet fully mature, and is drinkable and enjoyable now.
I love this tea, it's so warm with a caramel sweetness that lasts a long time.
This tea can withhold manny infusions, the only real disappointment for me is the heavy compression.
I can definitely recommend this cake to anybody that enjoys aged sheng.
