“TeJi” written as “特级” directly means “Special Grade” which is another series started from 2003 year for the reason of “Creating higher grade tuo cha than JiaJi tuo cha”. The grade of tea materials on this tea is higher than JiaJi tuo cha. Generally called as “TeTuo” in market. In 2016 year, this series was renamed as “TeTuo” written as “特沱”, a abbreviated form of “TeJiTuoCha”.

With trade mark of “Pine tree and Crane” printed on the wrapper of this tea.

This Red Eye Version of Crane on the trademark is believed better on quality comparing to the other general version. The price is also much different.

There are also varieties of package like simple wrapper, paper box and different weight like 100g, 250g.

Taste:

Because of the higher grade on tea materials than JiaJi tuo cha,

this series tastes more astringent.

More fragrant and abundant mouth feeling in the first half session.

Obvious bitterness.

Smoke is still on a high level.

Both HuiGan and ShengJin(saliva producing) are fast.

But in recent years especially from 2011 year, this series becomes lighter on smoke and bitterness.

The taste feeling is more acceptable to general consumer including new comers to puerh tea world.

Storage:

Guangzhou Natural Storage.

WIld, Lots of Character

This tea has a lot going on, and has a roughness that seems to characterize Xiaguan productions. Smoke, perfume, green peppercorn and there is still a vegetal edge to it. One thing is for certain: this tea is burly and has a strong effect. While not totally for me, I definitely come back to it.
