Tai Ping Hou Kui is widely considered the "King of Green Teas" due to its majestic, oversized leaves and unique processing. This specific batch is categorized as "Early Spring" because it represents the first biological harvest of the year. Although picked in late April—chronologically later than many other green teas—these leaves are the first output of the plant following its winter dormancy in the high-altitude, misty peaks of Anhui.

Product Characteristics

  • Harvest & Grade: Hand-picked in Early Spring 2026. This is a Premium A++++ Grade tea, representing the pinnacle of tenderness and vibrant freshness.

  • Appearance: Features distinctive, exceptionally flat, "sword-shaped" leaves. Each leaf is adorned with a delicate layer of silver-white down.

  • Sensory Profile:

    • Aroma: An elegant, ethereal orchid fragrance that captures the crisp essence of the high-altitude spring.

    • Liquor: The tea pours a bright, luminous green, offering a refined clarity in the glass.

    • Palate: A smooth, velvety mouthfeel with a naturally sweet taste and a clean, refreshing finish.

    • Hui Gan: Characterized by a delightful and persistent "returning sweetness" that lingers in the throat.

Brewing & Storage

  • The Tall Glass Method:

    1. Place ~5g of leaves vertically into a pre-warmed tall glass.

    2. Pour a small amount of water (approx. 2 cm) along the inner wall to allow the leaves to absorb moisture and begin their "dance."

    3. Fill to 80% capacity and observe the sword-like leaves standing vertically in the water.

  • Water Temperature: 85–90°C (185–194°F). Precision is key; avoid boiling water to prevent scalding the tender first-flush leaves.

  • Storage: To maintain the delicate aromatics and prevent oxidation, store in an airtight container under refrigeration at 0–5°C (32–41°F).
